Chemical Peel Treatment for Men

Obviously, you're here because, you're living with skin that shows either the signs of aging or imperfections, and you have questions as to how to improve its appearance. You've probably heard a lot about chemical peels, but you have a question. Let me guess...

What is a chemical peel? And, are chemical peels for men?

That's two questions... and they're both great ones!

Basically, a chemical peel utilizes acids in varying strengths to remove the outer dead / damaged layer of skin. The goal, of course, is to improve the skin's texture by allowing new skin to replace the old. Still with me? Okay, good. There are three types of chemical peels for men which can be used to treat the face, neck and chest, as well as the arms, hands and legs:

  • AHA: The mildest chemical peel treatment for men, alpha hydroxy acid peels treat acne, pigmentation problems, dry patches and fine wrinkles, resulting in smoother, more luminous skin.
  • TCA: A medium strength peel, trichloroacetic acid treats superficial wrinkles and skin imperfections, as well as addresses pigmentation problems.
  • PHENOL: The strongest of the three peels, carbolic acid treats more pronounced wrinkles, as well as sun-damaged skin and even pre-cancerous growths on the face (rarely used on areas other than the face as scarring can result).

Regardless of the peel, as the damaged layer of skin is removed, it's very important that you avoid the sun as your skin heals.

What is a chemical peel? Check. Are chemical peels for men? Yes. Any more questions? Of course. What's a chemical peel cost? In the table below, you'll find the answer, along with a lot more important information about peels.
