Richard Chaffoo earned a BA in chemistry from Catawba College in Salisbury, North Carolina, where he was awarded summa cum laude. He then earned his MD from North Carolina's Wake Forest University, before joining the United States Navy. As a medical officer, Dr. Chaffoo performed an internship and residency in Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery in Portsmouth, Virginia, at the Naval Regional Medical Center. Dr. Chaffoo has nine years of postgraduate education, including two surgical residencies in Plastic Surgery and Head & Neck Surgery, and three fellowships: Facial Plastic Surgery and Head & Neck Oncologic Surgery (Stanford University), and Burn Surgery (University of California, San Diego).
